Stockport Action for Voluntary Youth Supporting all aspects of voluntary youth!

SAVY was established in 1991 to support voluntary youth groups in Stockport. In response to the changing scenery of the third sector we have recently developed two levels of membership. This is in recognition of the fact that many of the services we offer can be utilised by groups that have a wider age remit and many community groups, voluntary and statutory organisation have expressed an interest in utilising and accessing a number our services.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               All SAVY membership is free of charge.

• Associate Member:

Associate membership is open to all community groups, voluntary and statutory organisations in Stockport that currently involve or wish to involve Young People. However this does not the main aim of the group/organisation. Groups in this category can access the wider services supplied by SAVY without being a fully affiliated member. Groups wishing to access SAVY's CRB service can also access this membership.

• Full Member:

Full SAVY Membership is open to all community groups and voluntary organisations whose main aims and objectives are to support and develop voluntary youth. Examples of these groups are Girl Guides, local voluntary run youth groups or groups established to deliver a service solely for Young People e.g. youth drama group. Full Membership entitles you exclusively access additional services and resources through SAVY, these include:

• Free stands at SAVY events.
• Access to the SAVY training program.
• Access to a mini bus service (conditions apply)Use of outdoor and camping equipment through Stockport Youth Service outdoor stores.

Groups wishing to become a Full Member must meet the SAVY basic group/ organisational health requirements which include safeguarding policy, CRB checks and other areas of essential good practice when working with Young People.
