SAVY (Stockport Action for Voluntary Youth) gives voluntary youth groups registered with SAVY and Stockport Services for Young People a clear voice on matters that affect them in relation to young people in Stockport and voluntary sector youth provision.
With 175 active members, we provide a mechanism to enable Stockport voluntary youth groups to be consulted on matters of policy, training, participation, grant aid, and commissioning by Stockport Partnerships, 0-25 services and health trusts.
SAVY promote and work towards the values and ethics of Youth Work as defined by the National Youth Agency and the best outcomes as defined by Helping Children Achieve More (Every Child Matters) legislation. (Children’s Act 2004).
SAVY provide quality targeted youth provision for vulnerable young people across the borough of Stockport, specifically Special Educational Needs (SEN), Low Level Mental Health, Looked after Young People (LAYP), Young Carers and Care Leavers.
SAVY provide vulnerable young people with a platform to have their views heard in order to shape children and young people’s services in Stockport.
